"Expected Points (xP) estimates the value of every shot by predicting how likely it is to be made given its context (e.g., distance, shot type, and situation) and then converting that probability into expected points (2× for twos, 3× for threes). By focusing on the quality of chances rather than whether shots happened to go in, xP helps show which teams consistently create high-value opportunities and where on the floor they do it.
